Girlfriend Getaways:  Bahamas, Here We Come!

What could be better than getting together with all your girlfriends, having fun, getting pampered, and forgetting about all your problems?  Only one thing -- doing it in the Abacos!  The Abacos, which are a group of islands in the Bahamas, are a great place to have that getaway for the girls, as the islands are within proximity to the U.S. mainland and love catering to visitors.  Whether it is for a graduation trip, bridal party, or just to catch-up with old friends, there is no better place to get spoiled, relax, and have fun with the girls.  Just a short flight from Florida, trips can be as short as a few days, or last weeks at a time. 

Although there are several commercial airlines that have scheduled flights to Abaco, depending on the size of the group, chartering a plane is a feasible option.  Most of the charter companies offer flights for 4 to 8 people.  With a group of this size, chartering a plane guarantees that the group will all be on the same flight, offers flexible arrival and departure times, provides personal service, and could even save money.

Depending on the type of desired getaway, accommodations will vary from small resorts and cottages, to large vacation homes and chartered yachts.  Small resorts are great for those girls who really want to be pampered.  Maid service is great, as less time is wasted on trying to keep things tidy.  Vacation homes are a wise option for longer stays.  Staying in a private home allows for flexibility when choosing whether to stay in or eat out, and generally provides the setting for a more intimate get-together.  Most homes are equipped with movies, music, games, and much more to keep you occupied.  For more adventurous girls, chartering a captained yacht may also be an option.  Relaxing on the water is a great, and having a captain and crew allows for learning the basics of sailing or boating, as well as discovering the hidden gems of the islands.

As for things to do, the list never ends.  The islands boast many restaurants and bars with great food, and even better drinks.  Days can be spent lounging around the pool, or laying on the beach.  The turquoise waters are great for cooling off, and floating with a sense of weightlessness.  Nights, on the other hand, are lively with dj’s and live bands playing great music at local hot spots.  After a night of dancing, a little relaxing may be in order.  Whether you are interested in doing some yoga on the beach, or having a private massage in the comfort of your home, it is simple to escape away from it all. 

After experiencing such a memorable trip with your girlfriends, it is going to be hard to go home.  Don’t forget, there is always next year!
