Spending a Day on a Tropical Island: It Never Gets Boring

Everyday that is spent on an island almost always brings something new.  The land, water, and sky offer endless opportunities for enjoyment, and the possibilities are unlimited when it comes to deciding what to do on a daily basis.  One day can be spent on the water, while the next day is spent gazing into the trees at the many species of birds.

Once the sun rises above the horizon, the sky quickly transforms from warm pinks and purples to bright blue.  The clouds suddenly start to disperse, and anyone would be able to tell that it is going to be another great day.  While mornings are generally cooler than the rest of the day, it is the best time to be outside and moving around.  Taking a bicycle ride, walking, or running down to the point decides whether the morning will be spent on land, or in the water.  If there are no waves, the morning can be spent working on a painting or trekking through town taking photographs of all the new blooms.  When the break looks great, and the tide is perfect, it is time to catch a few waves.

Once the wind picks up in the afternoon, taking a break for some food and drinks is in order.  After feasting on some local treats, the wind has generally picked up enough for some sailing or kite flying.  If the wind is too light, snorkeling off of the beach makes for a great afternoon.  Flying a kite is very relaxing when the winds are just right.  The best place to fly a kite is on the beach, where there are no trees or lines to get in the way.  After an afternoon of running around on the beach, the most fun way to cool off is to splash around in the water along the shore.

Prior to the sun setting, and before going home, it is a must to stop by the local fish market to pick up the catch of the day.  Grilling on the deck always makes for great food.  After dinner, depending on the mood, the night can be spent at a local bar, but if the sky is clear and the stars are bright, stargazing proves to be a relaxing option.  On most nights, because there is no light pollution, the Milky Way is visible with the naked eye.

It is clear that in one day there are endless possibilities of things to do on a tropical island.  Everyday of the week can be spent doing something totally different.  All activities are within close proximity to one another, and in most cases don’t cost anything.  With so much to do, spending a day on a tropical island never gets boring.
